Need a website for your business? You have landed on the right website as we provide Web Design services for all types of businesses. There are a few things that you will need to have before a website can be developed and we will discuss them in this article. For starters, you will have to note that we develop all of our websites using CMS (Content Management Systems) and in this case WordPress. There are quite a number of options for CMS but we prefer WordPress because it is a very user-friendly CMS.
1. Domain Name
Before you can have a website developed, you will need to have a domain name. So what is a domain name? A domain name is your website name. It is an address where Internet users can access your website. It can be any combination of letters and numbers, and it can be used in combination with the various domain name extensions, such as .com, .net, .co.zm, .org.zm and more. The domain name must be registered before you can use it. If you go for a domain extension like .co.zm, you can have it registered via any ISP provider in the country like ZAMNET, Microlink, ZAMTEL, etc. Every domain name is unique and no two websites can have the same domain name. If someone types in www.yourdomain.com, it will go to your website and no one else’s. The price of a domain name typically runs between K300 – K500 per year depending on where you are having it registered.
2. Web Hosting
Web Hosting is a necessity for any website as it is the physical location of your website on the Internet, an online storage center that stores the information, images, video, and other content that comprises your website. Web Hosting service providers maintain the server where the data associated with your website is stored, and also manage the technology that makes your website connect to the Internet. Web Hosting is typically measured in the amount of disk space you’re allotted on the server and the amount of data transfer or “bandwidth” you need for accessing the server. For example, if you have a lot of customer interaction at your website, such as files to download, you will access the server frequently and you’ll need more Web hosting transfer space than someone who simply puts readable text on their website. The more “items” or “content” you have on your site (i.e., photos, maps, PDF files, etc.), the more disk space you’ll need for website hosting.
3. Web Development
This is the final requirement for having a website developed. Once you have a domain registered and have an active Web Hosting subscription, the process of developing the website can begin. We develop different kinds of websites ranging from E-Commerce, Brochure, Personal, Blogs, Directories, etc. You can view our Web Development Pricing and if what you need is not covered here, we can have a custom solution for you. You can also have a look at our Portfolio of the websites that we have developed over the years just to get some inspiration for what you would like or just as something you can use to gauge our competence.
4. Payment Gateway
This is for websites that have E-Commerce features and functions. We will integrate your website with a payment gateway enabling you to make transactions online with clients.
